Campaign Epilogue

Representatives of the Assembly line the intimidating head table of the council room, most in person, some via hologram. Their eyes are on me like judges in a high-profile trial.

They begin to ask me questions. Some are not even about the ladder or Angi. I choose to answer truthfully and without undue diplomacy. They don’t always like that.

It’s clear that this hearing is more than about Angi’s death. It’s about the team as a whole, and my coaching of it. They’re deciding my future, here and now.

Interestingly, they’ve allowed Cord Domuuno into the hearing. That makes sense. He’s a key team leader, and one not tainted by the circumstances of Angi’s death, such as Ezebel.
