I lean back, grow quieter. “It’s obvious what happened.”
“You realized that Angi was degenerating, and there was nothing you could do about it medically. She had to be removed from the team.
“But, you also knew that Mikhail would never leave her. He would most likely quit the team to be with her. You couldn’t afford that chance. Mikhail is simply too good to lose.
“You wondered what you could do. Then, one day the alarm triggered on the silo where the ladder is located. Security informed you of the situation, and that’s when you had your brilliant idea.
“You told Security to turn off the alarm. You kept watch on the ladder. Sure enough, acrobat Angi was attracted to it.
“You waited for your time. At the right moment, as she neared the top of the ladder, you somehow trapped her, rendered her unconscious, and dropped her. But you waited those twenty seconds for Ezebel to clear the floor where Angi would land. Don’t want to risk any precious assets.”
I straighten and take a step forward. “You committed murder to protect the team. You sliced Angi out of it like you would a cancer. What stuns me is the number of Assembly personnel that must have been involved, and who went along with it. And then you tried to pin this murder on me as negligence on my part.”
